Description
- Adding to an automated test system the capability to be informed of the mobile state and internal events.
- This automated system is used on long time periods performing endurance testing to check the stability of the phone software.
- The student will have to make evolutions on the test system (PC running windows and Linux) using multi-threaded Python scripts.
- He will build as well test scenario to demonstrate the use of phone state usage and internal event treatment to build an intelligent adaptive test system.

Description
Port application framework and some representative applications on top of an embedded Python virtual machine running on a Linux feature phone.

This includes:
-Porting graphical library client to Python
-Interfacing Python virtual machine with application\'s level services (database, drivers, other applications, graphical library...)
-Choosing and implementing representative high level applications (mail client, instant messaging client, calendar...).
-Measuring performances (CPU usage, memory footprint, ROM size)
-Analysing development impact (coding, debugging)
-Proposing a new application development framework (editors, debuggers, profilers, code coverage tools, unit testing...)

- Define, implement and integrate WLAN demonstrations into a smartphone (VoIP, Modem, data transfer).

- Study and integration of a Linux kernel (and Smartphone) Simulator.

- The Simulator should be based on open source developments.
